Abstract

In March 2024 Singaraja experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 3.71 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.91. The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in eight expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 10.38 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.10 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.06 percent; health group by 1.87 percent; transportation group by 0.16 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 2.00 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 1.04 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.76 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure group indices experienced deflation or restrained inflation in Singaraja, namely the household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.92 percent; the information, communication and financial services group by 0.76 percent; and the education group by 0.18 percent. Meanwhile, on a month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) basis Singaraja in March 2024 experienced inflation rates as high as 0.89 percent and 1.18 percent, respectively.
