Abstract

In March 2023 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.42 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 115.66. The March 2023 calendar year inflation rate was as high as 1.66 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2023 against March 2022 or YoY) was recorded as high as 5.25 percent.

Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as high as 0.93 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 0.89 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.55 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 0.19 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.09 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.07 percent; and group V (health) as high as 0.01 percent. One group experienced deflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) by 0.08 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure groups experienced no changes in index or stagnant, namely group VII (information, communication and financial services); group IX (education); and group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants).

Of the 90 CPI cities, 65 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in the City of Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara) as high as 1.30 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in the City of Denpasar (Bali) as high as 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in the city of Bandung (West Java) as deep as 1.50 percent, while the shallowest deflation was recorded in the city of Dumai (Riau) as deep as 0.02 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 29th out of 65 cities experiencing inflation.
