Abstract

In July 2023 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.25 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 116.38. The July 2023 calendar year inflation rate was as high as 2.29 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2023 against July 2022 or YoY) was recorded as high as 1.63 percent.

Six expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) as high as 0.69 percent; group I (food, drink and tobacco) as high as 0.59 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.18 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.17 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.04 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.01 percent. Two groups experienced deflation, namely group IX (education) as deep as 0.20 percent; and group VI (transportation) as deep as 0.15 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure groups experienced no changes in index or stagnant, namely group VII (information, communication and financial services); group VIII (recreation, sports and culture); and group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants).

Of the 90 CPI cities, 77 cities experienced inflation and 13 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Manokwari City as high as 1.43 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Bulukumba City as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in the City of Tual as deep as 0.50 percent while the shallowest deflation was recorded in the City of Palangka Raya and the City of Banjarmasin each as deep as 0.01 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 37th out of 77 cities experiencing inflation.
