Development of the Singaraja City Consumer Price Index for June 2023

Abstract

In June 2023 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 116.09. The June 2023 calendar year inflation rate was as high as 2.04 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2023 against June 2022 or YoY) was recorded as high as 1.87 percent.

Five expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as high as 0.90 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.53 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 0.20 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.10 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.01 percent. Four groups experienced deflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) by 1.34 percent; group VI (transportation) as deep as 0.51 percent; group VII (information, communication and financial services) as deep as 0.05 percent; and group V (health) as deep as 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the other two expenditure groups did not experience changes in index or were stagnant, namely group IX (education); and group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants).

Of the 90 CPI cities, 78 cities experienced inflation and 12 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Jayapura City as high as 1.36 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Metro City, DKI Jakarta City, Kudus City and Ternate City each as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in the City of Sumenep as deep as 0.42 percent while the shallowest deflation was recorded in the City of Mataram as deep as 0.02 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 33rd out of 78 cities experiencing inflation.
