Abstract

In August 2024 Singaraja experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 1.69 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.02. The y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase of eight expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.45 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.42 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.14 percent; health group by 3.09 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.66 percent; education group by 1.30 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 1.88 percent; and personal care and other services group by 2.96 percent. Meanwhile, three other expenditure group indices experienced deflation or restrained inflation in Singaraja, namely the household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.46 percent; the transportation group by 0.13 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.62 percent. Meanwhile, on a month to month basis (m-to-m) Singaraja in August 2024 experienced deflation of 0.18 percent, while on a year to date basis (y-to-d) Singaraja in August 2024 experienced inflation as high as 0.34 percent.
